We can provide and fit floor coverings to your specification and/or guide you through the minefield of what is best suitable according to your project requirements and budgets.

Asbestos floor tiles were once a popular choice for floor coverings and these can still be found today under other materials. It was the advice of the HSE to leave Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM's) in place and overlay. Over time however, as subsequent flooring gets lifted, the old asbestos vinyl tiles often become damaged and lift up with the disturbance created. This is when the situation requires appropriate action. Solow Flooring Contractors are qualified to uplift and safely remove your old asbestos tiles, following all essential HSE compliances.

There is a national 'vinyl flooring take back scheme' which was founded in 2009. The aim is to re-cycle and re-use existing vinyl flooring (where possible) and off-cuts from newly fitted projects. Smooth and safety vinyl flooring off-cuts are recycled into new flooring products and smooth uplifted flooring is reprocessed into traffic management systems, such as cones and sign bases. We always aim to recycle as much flooring as possible and use the national drop-off sites where the materials are collected from.
