I am a gardener with a Royal Horticultural Society qualification in Horticulture, and a love of flowers that's been with me all my life! My diary is normally very full but it's a pleasure to take on a much-loved, well-stocked garden. I work in flowerbeds rather than garden maintenance and can make your beds and borders thrive, by making the most of the plants you already have or by recommending plants to patch up your beds and borders right through to designing whole new flowerbeds! If you'd like to do it yourself, I offer one-on-one beginner lessons to help you start out in your own garden, showing you the basics like pruning and caring for your shrubs and how to choose plants for your garden.
I studied hard and have an RHS level 2 qualification in horticulture hung up in my house! I like to keep my knowledge updated by reading journals, attending RHS talks in Norwich and of course, watching my favourite pro Monty on Gardener's World! I keep a folder of inspiration with cuttings that my customers might find interesting and relevant to their garden. I started up my business in 2010 and have got over 9 years experience working as a professional gardener, as well as over one year's experience of working part-time as a volunteer at the local National Trust property Felbrigg Hall.
Daily, weekly or fortnightly gardening - to ensure the best care for all my customer's gardens flexibility is important - most gardens I work on don't require appointments but I will make one-off appointments to meet and discuss specific projects, suggest ideas or work with other gardeners to ensure a smooth running garden! I carry my own tools, and I can invoice you online when the work is done so there is no need for you to worry that you need to be in when I come! I can either meet you there and help you choose plants for your garden, or I can make the trip buy plants for you.
