Due to the isolated nature of our lawn care work, we are able to carry out services without having any direct contact with customers. TopGrass was launched in 2005 with the aim of offering top-quality lawn care using the knowledge, materials, and equipment of the professional groundsman and applying it to domestic lawns. TopGrass is an independent lawn treatment company set up by Tom Arnold and Ian Decourcy whose backgrounds combine experience in treating professional lawns and sports turf with business expertise from working in quality-driven blue-chip companies.

I have an agricultural background and noticed lawn care was a small but growing industry in the UK. My role within TopGrass has developed over the years from being very hands-on at the outset of the company to now being more of a leadership position. My earliest memory of the company was my research into the industry itself. I met with other lawn care companies in the US as I got first-hand knowledge of the industry as a whole. When the company was established, and still to this day, our focus is a customer-centred approach and to make sure our employees are happy and comfortable working at TopGrass.

Aeration is a key factor in keeping lawns healthy and green, as, like us, your lawn and the soil beneath it needs to breathe. TopGrass use a professional cam driven aerator which creates lots of holes in your lawn, piercing the soil profile. The machine does not just spike the ground, it also heaves and agitates the soil, fracturing its structure and facilitating the air/nutrient/moisture distribution. On a golf green, for example, greenkeepers will do this many times a year to keep the turf in great shape.
