Paynes Turf is a family-run, environmentally conscious turf specialist that grows and harvests high quality turf on its farms in Essex and Suffolk. We operate our own fleet of delivery vehicles with forklift unloading, providing our customers with an exceptional delivery service. Established in 1971, Paynes Turf is a family-owned business that cultivates a variety of turfs on our farms in Essex and Suffolk, including Premium Grade Turf and Pro Sports Turf. We also sell Topsoil, Border Bark, plants, grass seed, lawn care, and pest control products. All of Paynes' turf is grown from our own seed mixtures, using only top STRI (The Sports Turf Research Institute) cultivars for high germination, good establishment and disease resistance. Carefully scheduled seeding programmes ensure availability all year round, as our turf is never harvested until it is fully mature.

Naturally occurring in the autumn and winter in mild and damp weather, white mould spores can appear on your lawn particularly in shady or sheltered areas. Although this can be a bit unsightly, frosty weather usually eliminates it. The grass usually recovers the following spring. Common in warm and damp conditions on newly laid turf and established lawns. Do not eat toadstools as they could well be poisonous.
