Let Balanis transform your garden in to an oasis of beauty and tranquility. Louise Barby, head of garden design, turned a lifelong passion for gardening in to a career in 2010. Louise believes a garden should reflect the character and soul of it's owners. Every Balanis garden design is different with a planting scheme handpicked for the customer. Louise takes considerable time and effort to understand her client's likes, dislikes, passions and inspirations. A bespoke design aimed at creating a garden that blooms throughout the year, season after season.

At Balanis Garden Design the most important person is always the customer. We take GREAT care in understanding what our customer is looking for. Whether it's a full on new Garden Design, an all out Garden re-design, a major garden clearance or just a "quick" (is there such a thing?) garden makeover. When you invite Louise and her team of hard landscapers (patios, decking, planters etc) and soft landscapers (plants, turf etc) in to your home we work with you from the start to the end. This is a recent makeover of a garden in Hunstanton, North Norfolk.

Everyone knows great gardens don't just grow overnight. They take continued care and nurture to produce a garden you can be proud of. Many gardens we visit have just got out of hand and need only a little work to bring them back in line. Out month to month garden maintenance guides should give you some ideas of what to do, how to do it and when best to do it. Every month we post on our Facebook pages a list of essential garden maintenance jobs for the coming months. If you can get out for even just 4 or 5 hours per week, then you should be able to keep on top of the jobs as the pop up.

August is the time for holidays away or simply time off work for many. Take time to enjoy the garden. If you are going away, try popping all your baskets and pots in one place and put a simple timer on your hose in order to water once a day while you are away. Or even better, ask a neighbour to water!. Use your herbs in cooking, salads and barbeques and cut the flowers you've laboured over, bringing the 'outside inside'. If you've decided that you need some help with your garden, then please get in touch with Louise, whether it's a FULL Garden Design service or just a makeover and colour injection.

April is a good time to start planning for a garden tidy up. Don't forget, if you are looking for a freshen up and a general garden makeover, please get in touch with Louise now as she's often heavily booked in advance. Fill gaps in flower beds with early bedding plants or sow annuals such as field poppies, california poppies, sunflowers and cosmos. If sown in succession, you'll have a great display until the first frosts. Spray roses regularly to prevent greenfly from taking hold. If you prefer organic treatments, try a spray with warm soapy water.
