To find the correct length of pole you first need to know the width of your window. Then you need to add approximately 20cm-30cm. This extra length is to give you approximately 10cm-15cm either side of the window to be able to gather your curtains back off the window and allow the maximum amount of light in. The exact space you will need will depend on how much room is left between the window and an adjacent wall, and by how thick the curtains are -thicker curtains will have a wider gather. Remember to allow between 5cm-7cm of space more than the above measurements to allow for the decorative finials, or end pieces, that attach to the end of the poles to give them their distinctive style.
