At Smartstyle Interiors, we begin with one simple aim; to create a happy, healthy home for you and your family. Based in Tunbridge Wells, we provide interior design services for homes and commercial properties throughout Kent and Sussex. From a simple interior design scheme for one room, to a new kitchen or a whole house renovation, we'll manage your project beautifully with our refreshing and personalised approach to interior design. Read on and find out how. Perhaps you have recently moved into a new house that doesn't feel truly yours yet.

After moving from London to a seven-year-old new build in Tunbridge Wells, our client's new home was a blank slate. We worked with them to create a comfortable and contemporary interior with a great mix of antique pieces for every room of their new home. The hearth is the focal point in the living room, and we made sure of this by replacing the existing fireplace with a sleek and modern one for the family to congregate around. In addition to the fireplace, we also replaced all the doors in the home to make sure visitors felt each room's impact as soon as they put their hand on a door handle and walked in.

We are all about adding unique design elements to capture our clients' personalities. Our aim is to make our clients smile every time they walk into a space and see these personal touches. We had the joy of fulfilling that aspiration with the interior design of this gorgeous 1920's Family Home in Sevenoaks. Having been brought into this project from the beginning, we could work closely with our clients to help plan and design the internal layout of this renovation. We've had a hand in every part of the design and decoration process, from designing the kitchen layout, bespoke wardrobes and bookcases to creating the kitchen lighting plan and even down to specifying bespoke pieces by independent artisans.

I was very excited to be brought onto this Victorian house extension project. The space added to this period property provided the perfect blank canvas to work with. We wanted to design a room that worked with the clients' busy family lives as well as complementing the existing decor in the rest of the house. It needed a wow factor as people stepped through the door, but also had to be practical. To make the most of this large kitchen space, we divided the room into three separate areas, using lighting and distinct accent colours to give them an individual feel.

Bespoke cabinets are not automatically at the top of everyone's wish list, but don't overlook the dramatic impact they can have on your home. There are few rooms in the house that won't benefit from a little custom built joinery; whether it's a couple of book shelves in an alcove, some handy cupboards in the boot room or a fully fitted walk-in wardrobe. Bespoke cabinetry can be used to display, store, organise and access your belongings more easily. It makes maximum use of all areas available, creating a sense of additional space and calm throughout the home.

We spend most of our time at home in the kitchen and these hard-working, multi-functioning spaces are the jewel in the crown of the modern family home. No longer just a place to cook, today's family kitchen is a command centre: a busy hub for eating, entertaining, working, relaxing and catching up with the people you live with. The kitchen is where family life is lived. Possibly the biggest single investment you'll ever make in your home, the kitchen is about so much more than cabinets. It's quite a technical job to get a kitchen right, which is why our skills and expertise are invaluable when creating your plan.

Your interior design project is one of a kind, and we love that. You may need a new kitchen, a make-over for a tired bedroom, interior design for an extension or a complete home renovation. We manage all the practical and technical planning, budget setting, and of course the fun part of helping you choose a style you love. Your contractors, electricians and other tradespeople will use our plans which makes sure everyone is working towards the same vision. Whether you need help with one room or a whole house, together we select the services you need and build an interior design package just for you.

We provide full interior design, interior styling, homestaging and project implementation. Whatever you need, we guarantee to approach your project with energy and vision, and will be with you every step of the way to create the home you have been dreaming of. It's never too early to speak to us about your project. Far better to kick some ideas around with us now rather than wait until the builders are on site and asking where to put the plug sockets. Rather than tell you what we do, can we show you?

A Smartstyle Interiors commercial project will create an office, studio, retail or leisure space which combines clever ideas for the functional use of your space with a visual design that is bang on-brand. In an office you may need better storage spaces, new seating plans, break out spaces, or ways to diffuse noise or other interference. In a salon you may find your current receptions space isn't working and you need to create a space that is welcoming and functional at the same time. Wherever you work, new lighting, seating, colour schemes or layouts can all make a dramatic difference to the wellbeing of your team.

Are there any minimialists out there? I know there will be a few dotted arond, but most of us have 'stuff'. Belongings that we treasure, need, use and want to hold onto. I understand this! I won't be making you throw away everything that doesn't 'spark joy'. A can opener doesn't tend to spark.

Often overlooked, the hallway provides a great opportunity to make a big impact in a small space. In this Tenderden Oast House we gave the hallway a vintage treatment, with a beautiful mid-century chair re-covered in a soft pink fabric. Although re-covering furniture is not always cheap, we choose.
