We previously left a very positive review for Globe & De Blasio after they renovated our kitchen in 2024. Unfortunately, since then the company has gone massively downhill, and the things they were once good at are now serious issues.
We have since heard of many other unhappy customers, and this was directly acknowledged by Globe & De Blasio themselves. The Director of Globe confirmed to us that they had experienced problems on other jobs and had to change the builders they were using as a result. There have also been significant changes in staff and suppliers, which appear to have had a noticeable negative impact on the quality of service and project delivery.
Globe & De Blasio confirmed they would project manage our bathroom renovation, supply all materials and instruct their own bathroom fitters. The work started in October 2025 and was originally quoted to take three weeks. As of January 2026, after over three months, they have left us with an incomplete bathroom, including unfinished electrics and no extractor fan fitted.
This situation is particularly unacceptable given that Globe were fully aware we were expecting a newborn baby imminently in January 2026. Despite this, they have shown no urgency or care in leaving us with an incomplete bathroom after months of disruption.
Throughout the renovation there were near-daily issues. Parts were repeatedly not ordered, meaning fitters arrived with nothing to work with or the wrong materials. Fitters were also not given drawings or a clear scope of works, leading to confusion and guesswork on measurements because Globe had failed to communicate with them.
They also delivered items that were completely different from what we ordered and then tried to pressure us into accepting them. For example, we ordered a plain white worktop and they delivered one with heavy black marbling — not even remotely close. We were told white worktops had been “discontinued,” which was clearly untrue and disproven within five minutes of checking their supplier online.
A chipped mirror was delivered, and when we requested a replacement they supplied a much cheaper, lower-quality mirror, again claiming the original was discontinued. This was also false — the exact mirror we ordered was readily available online.
We also paid for flooring via Globe based on their invoice, but the options provided were extremely limited and unsuitable. Globe confirmed in writing that they had not ordered the flooring, that we could arrange our own, and that we would be refunded. We are still waiting for this refund.
The markups Globe charge are astronomical. As one example, the mirror they charged us £420 for is available online for £98 — a 420% markup. It would be far cheaper, easier, and significantly less stressful to source your own materials and work directly with fitters.
We’ve now been left with an unfinished bathroom, additional costs to pay other trades to fix and complete the work, and money owed back, while Globe & De Blasio have gone radio silent.
We strongly recommend avoiding Globe & De Blasio. This is particularly disappointing given how good they were during our kitchen renovation, but it’s clear that recent changes in staff and suppliers over the past 18 months have resulted in a poorly run and unreliable operation.

Dishwasher packed up so new one ordered. Unfortunately the old dishwasher was very tightly fitted and we could not move it. Steve came out to assess and spent so much time and effort getting the old machine out ensuring our kitchen units were not damaged
