David Haugh started designing and making one-off high-end furniture pieces in 1988. Working with wood, handling raw timber and creating beautiful pieces of furniture sparked a passion that has never left him. Our journey began thirty years ago when I left teaching to fulfil a passion to design and make one-off pieces of furniture. With the help of my wife Sue we started in a very small converted cow shed. The business has grown steadily ever since. Today, we are on the same site with extensive workshops and showrooms in a completely refurbished building surrounded by attractive gardens. The team at David Haugh will make life easy for you. Andrew, our designer has considerable experience advising on layouts and can coordinate the whole project from start to finish.
We offer a wide range of painted kitchens in styles from a traditional in-frame door with moulding detail right through to a minimalistic flat door design. We work with you to understand the style of kitchen that you are looking for and strive to create a look that works within the current aesthetic of your property. For a modern look and feel, all of our flat doors are spray painted to a soft sheen level in our very own, purpose built spray shop. This provides a warm appearance that is both contemporary and welcoming.

Drawing from over 30 years' experience in making and designing furniture, David Haugh offers clients throughout Kent and the surrounding area a first class comprehensive kitchen design service. This includes a home visit followed by a full quotation with three dimensional colour perspective drawings, appliance choices, worktops and installation of your new kitchen. If the room requires preparation prior to fitting, we can offer as much or as little as you like. Our professional team will work with you producing ideas and innovations to bring a balance between function and design.
In December 2013 we left our kitchen showroom on Crescent Road, Tunbridge Wells and moved it to our workshop in Bells Yew Green, East Sussex. This is back where it all began twenty-five years ago. Some of you may know that we have a kitchen showroom at our workshops but you might be wondering why we moved out of Tunbridge Wells. What began to dawn on us was 50% of our kitchen customers would rather see us at our workshop premises instead of coming to Tunbridge Wells because of how congested the town was beginning to get.
A very popular style of panelled door for example is the 'Shaker' door - pure and simple in style, it remains a firm favourite with customers. It is a style that is accommodating because of its ageless appeal: it can be updated fairly easily. Light, plain without fussy detail encapsulates English Contemporary. Our furniture is unadorned and beautifully proportioned, with walls of cupboards, smoothly fitting drawers, tables and bench seating that is unobtrusive, as well as stunning wall colours to blend well with the furniture.
