Established over the last 25 years Skidmores of Hertford Ltd is a family run business based in Rural Hertfordshire. We carry out a variety of work including hard and soft Landscaping, groundworks and grounds maintenance in the commercial sector as well as on domestic gardens. We have a highly skilled, knowledgeable, efficient workforce who all carry the relevant Health and Safety documentation and our services are offered throughout London and the South East of England. We have worked on many prestigious projects including the Olympic Park, Blackfriars Bridge, Trinity Hospice, Earls Court Exhibition Centre and Kempton Park Race Course to name but a few.

We have worked on many Hard Landscaping Schemes as shown below, which include the RBS building near central London and Blackfriars Bridge where we also carried out the soft landscaping. We offer a professional services with a full range of hard landscaping works using high quality materials supplied by companies like Marshalls, Broxap, Blueton, Street Design, Langley Design and many other leading manufacturers of hard landscaping products. Whether it be natural stone, granite, claypavers, manufactured slabs or resin bound aggregate, we have the experience and know how to create the finish you desire.
We pride ourselves on our experience and knowledge of our industry. Landscaping covers a whole range of disciplines from planting exotic semi mature trees on roof gardens, and laying high quality paving, through to creating ecology areas with natural flora to encourage wildlife. Our staff have been with us for many years and they have the experience to manage and undertake projects in accordance with designs and specifications whilst ensuring that the client gets value for money. Our dedicated aftercare service maintains new schemes to a high standard to ensure that trees, shrubs, plants and grass are given the best opportunity to establish and thrive.
Although we do not undertake heavy civils work, we can accommodate some elements of groundworks where they interface with hard landscape schemes. The picture below shows paving being laid along the Thames Embankment as part of the Blackfriars Bridge Station redevelopment, where we also installed surface water drainage.
