As we are one of the smaller members of the BPCA (British Pest Control Association), we are able to offer customers all the accompanying benefits of membership, but at a much-reduced rate. Our company is fully insured and uses only the most up-to-date biodegradable insecticides and poisons. All our technicians are BPCA/ADAS certified. We were able to send an e-mail photo of the insects and Scott Hyslop of Pestuk e-mailed us back very quickly telling us that they were grain weevils and knowing this we realised where they were nesting and therefore we were able to clear the infestation ourselves.

Occasionally we have vacancies. Below is a description of a Pest Control Technician duties & rates of pay. Sean Benham is the pest control technician in charge of our Pest Control Fleet PEST UK Office. Fleet is located in the county of Hampshire and is part of Hart District (Hart District Council). It is the major town f the district. The 2008 population forecast for Fleet was 31,000, although this does not include surrounding areas such as Elvetham Heath and Church Crookham. In 2011, 2012 & 2013 Hart district was voted the best place to live in the UK by the Halifax Quality of Life study. This is due to the highly affluent majority of the population, better weather and health conditions, high levels of access to leisure space and the towns situation surrounded by countryside.

Sean Benham our Pest Control Technician runs this pest control office. The pest control office is based in an industrial park, not in an attractive area like some of our other offices. Basingstoke is one of PEST UK's oldest locations - it was the 3rd pest control office to be set up as we expanded from our Reading base. Before we changed our company name to PEST UK we traded as Basingstoke Pest Control as well as Berkshire & Basingstoke Pest Control. Basingstoke has expanded rapidly. In the 60's and 70's it was classed as an overspill town to take people from London.

Food premises need to be kept as hygienic and sterile as possible in order to reduce the risks of contamination, and the potential for causing illness and worse in clients and customers - not to mention the financial devastation from possible law suits. Food premises where pests have caused problems can find themselves suffering the consequences long after the problem has been solved. Restaurants, Cafes, Coffee shops and Take-Aways should all have reliable, regular contracts in place. Cutting costs on pest control contracts can have serious consequences.

A Pest Control Contract is not expensive. Not only will it protect the health and safety of your employees, it will also protect your reputation. Most prosecutions happen to smaller companies. Remove the worry and leave pest control in the hands of experts.

If you have a bee nest you will probably see bees entering a hole in the ground or in a wall or roof. Where they nest often depends on species. It may not be necessary to destroy the nest. It may be possible in some cases to remove the nest, but this is rare. The operator will be able to tell you what sort of bees they are, usually either Bumble Bees, Honey Bees or a wild species such as masonry or mining bees, there are many sub species of wild bees within these groups. Honey Bees: A honey bee nest will have thousands of bees and they will swarm around the entrance of the nest, this is commonly in chimneys but they will use any cavity.

If you have a cockroach problem you will see dead & alive cockroaches. Usually in kitchens or rooms with boilers &/or electrical devices such as fridges or cookers. Cockroaches are mainly nocturnal so they are more likely to be seen at night. They require high temperatures, although will survive and tolerate low temperatures (but will not thrive). Due to this they are most commonly found in kitchens, laundry rooms, boiler rooms & anywhere where high temperatures occur. In a kitchen the favourite places for them to live will be inside fridges (fridge motors constantly give off heat), cookers, boilers & washing machines.

Bed bugs bite at night. The bite marks will depend on the reaction of the person being bitten, as with Fleas & other biting insects different people may react in a different way and at a different time to others. Bites are usually on areas of the body that stick out the bed covers. Bed bugs are very much visible to the eye. In most bed bug infestations bed bugs will not be seen, the only evidence being the bites. You cannot feel bed bugs crawling on your skin the only thing you will feel will be the result of the bite long after the bed bug has crawled home!

You may see, hear or smell a mouse problem or see other evidence such as burrowing in insulation or soil or see the droppings. They are commonly heard in loft spaces and will travel in the wall cavities to all parts of the house, especially to areas where food can be found. They often follow the routes of pipes throughout the house. Mice are occasionally seen during daylight hours. You may hear them in the loft, particularly at night when it is quiet. Many people wonder what they eat in a loft space, they will eat spiders, woodlice & other insects as well as any air bourne seeds blown into the roof space.

Woking has a 'normal' cross section of pest control problems. There is a slight increase in rat pest control problems through the centre of Woking and this is probably due to the railway line and canal running through the centre of Woking. Both railway lines and canals can be channels of rat problems allowing rats & mice to spread to surrounding areas. At the moment PEST UK's presence in Woking is limited as it is a fairly new office but we are expanding. Currently PEST UK has a mix of pest control contracts in the area including domestic private homes, housing associations, restaurants, take aways, butchers, distribution warehouse and stables.

Konrad specialises in pest control proofing and can make a house or commercial premises rat and mouse proof for a reasonable charge. Most businesses are required by law to ensure that their premises remain pest free, and the easiest and most effective way to do this is to have regular Pest Control Contract. Although pest control contracts are usually considered for commercial premises, they can be useful for domestic or residential properties too. Particularly large properties, with extensive grounds and horses, chickens or other livestock may benefit from regular inspections. A domestic pest control contract can also provide peace of mind for holiday homes which may be empty for extended periods.
