Based in Plymouth, on the border between Devon and Cornwall, we are have been moving our clients throughout the South West since 1973.

Since our company's inception over 40 years ago, it has been owned and run by the Hackworthy family. Today 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation family members work alongside each other building a business that has the ethos of a small independent enterprise but with the capabilities that would match many national corporations. With our headquarters located in Plymouth and satellite crews based in Truro and Exeter, we carry-out removals throughout the South West; from St Just and Penzance in the far reaches of Cornwall up the coast to Barnstaple and Minehead in the North and Torquay, Exmouth and Seaton in the South.

From our experience, we understand that moving house is one of the most stressful times in our lives, that's why we want to make it easy and relaxing for you.

Whether you're looking for short term storage while you're between properties, or a longer term space to keep valuable items you don't have room for in your home, we can find a storage solution for you. If you need storage for your belongings (but don't need access to them), conventional container storage is a good option. We'll send a vehicle to your home and load your belongings into containers. They'll be sealed and returned to our warehouse where they'll be kept safe and secure in a clean, dry environment.

Hackworthy's is a family-owned business, established in 1972. Now run by second and third generation family members, we've grown to be one of the largest independent removal companies in the South West. Founded by Ron Hackworthy, the company was originally set up as a parcel carrier firm but soon diversified into moving new furniture and from there to carrying out removals. The business quickly took off and in 1976 we took over the lease of a warehouse in Prince Rock, Plymouth, which we eventually purchased.

As a family-run business have been moving local and national clients and businesses for over 40 years. We are one of the biggest independent removal and storage companies in the South West with numerous industry leading accreditation's to our name. We are members of the largest and most recognised Trade Association for removals in the UK. All BAR members must meet strict standards and are regularly inspected to make sure that their facilities, equipment, staff training and operational procedures remain at the highest level.
