If you have spent time and money repairing and re-repairing, have had an unfavourable survey or major leaking issue, it may be time to consider a new roof. If you have a pitched roof, you'll need roofers with experience in installing and repairing this type of roof. Pitched roofs are popular with many benefits due to being at a slanted angle so water runs off the roof much more easily than a flat roof. Generally, this means a pitched roof will last longer as the roof will encounter fewer issues through its lifetime and require fewer roof repairs.

All year round, your roof is subject to the elements, and eventually this may lead to leaks, faulty roofs, slipped roof tiles or slates or problems being identified in a survey. Assuming a new roof is not required, you'll be looking for a roof repair which is carried out safety, effectively and lasts. Our experienced roofers will visit your property and make a thorough inspection of the roof in order to identify the problem. If a roof repair is agreed as necessary, you'll receive a transparent, thorough quotation and any other details you need.

The life expectancy of a flat roof is probably about 20 years, depending on its construction. We offer Flat Roof Replacement and Repair. Flat roofs are functional, effective and good value for money, which is why many people will opt for flat roof construction over a pitched one. Sometime a flat roof may be required if there is something in the way making a pitched roof unachievable, such as a window. You'll be able to choose from many different types of roofing materials and our experts will guide you through the options including the popular felt roofing and EPDM.

If you have spent time and money repairing and re-repairing, have had an unfavourable survey or major leaking issue, it may be time to consider a new roof. The first stage would be a quotation by our roofing experts, who will offer you guidance, advice and an honest assessment of the best way to proceed. If a simple roof repair will suffice, that's what we'll advise. If a re-roof (new roof) is required, a comprehensive and transparent quotation will be provided alongside advice on the right style of roof for your property.

Most people don't realise that lead flashing is just as important to the roof as the slates and tiles themselves. Primarily designed to keep out rain water, it weatherproofs the corners, edges and valleys of your roof, keeping you safe and dry inside. You will find lead flashing all over the roof, from the chimney stack, box gutter, valleys, and any abutment on your roof (which just basically means any time a slant meets a wall). There are alternatives to lead such as zinc or aluminium, but our view from many years of roofing experience, is that lead is the best material for flashing.

After the leaves have fallen in Autumn, many of us will find our gutters have clogged and will need to be cleaned. Leaving them can result in leaks or damage to the outside of your home. First, we'll take a look at your property and provide a transparent, up-front quotation and advice on what we believe is required. We have all the right gutter cleaning tools, and can complete any gutter cleaning at your home, whether it's plastic, metal, aluminium or cast-iron guttering. We might be a small, local company, but we consider our services world-class, and so do our customers.

There are several reasons why you may need to consider removing the chimney in your home. If your property was built before 1940 it is highly likely that you'll need to look at re-pointing and re-flaunching the chimney. Pointing refers to the 'stuff' between the bricks and flaunching is the sloped cement at the base. The mortar for both perishes over time as the rain and weather hits it, so it will need raking out and a new mortar added. When a chimney is no longer in use however, it's often cheaper in the long run to remove it entirely.

Since slates and tiles have been used for centuries, they are still the main materials which cover our roofs. Whichever material you chose, they're both very sturdy against the weather and will be fixed to your roof on battens. Whilst you have a choice, the decision on which material to use is generally dictated by the area you're living in. If the street is full of tiled roofs, you'll probably go for that! If we carry out a roof repair, we'll obviously match the existing slates or tiles wherever possible.
