Here at Towens we are proud of our history and record in waste management and construction services, our association with Weston Super Mare, its business council and residents. Mainarea Ltd trading as Towens of Weston began on 14th July1992 from a small yard on the Weston Europark. We did pretty much anything in the early days, except skips as Andy Towens was not permitted to compete with his previous employer under the terms of his severance. At this time Woodspring District were very supportive finding various civil engineering works for us to carry out.

Towens support the Governments Environmental policy of promoting recycled aggregates as a cost effective alternative to quarry aggregates, in doing so reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. Materials for recycling get selected from our Waste Transfer Station, demolition sites and other groundwork projects. The materials are then separated, crushed, screened, and stockpiled on site for sale.

Towens Waste Management provides a service that is efficient and responsive to the needs of domestic and commercial customers, with our fleet of skip and hook lift lorries supplying skips and containers within 24 hours of ordering to the North Somerset, Somerset and Bristol areas. Operating from Weston super Mare and Bridgwater Towens offer a professional standard of service to the construction and building industry, commercial customers, the general public and some national waste management companies.

With our small dedicated team of experienced and qualified personnel, we offer groundworks and civil engineering services to private clients, local authorities, consultants and contractors. From small domestic drainage projects to large prime contractor works packages, we use approved contractors for street works for Somerset CC North Somerset South Glos. We are an authorized contractor to work on the Wessex Water network and carry EXOR accreditation for Civil Engineering and Demolition. We specialise in drop kerbs, drainage and sewer connections, resurfacing and concrete yards.

We run HIAB services to move awkward and cumbersome loads around the site. For customers who are unable to load material themselves or where you have small piles of soils, subsoils, hardcore or waste for disposal we offer our 8-wheel and 6-wheel grab lorries. Fitted with Atlas Hiab cranes with a clam bucket attachment, they can clear just about anything from your site in minimal time and with no fuss. Also available for delivering aggregates into spots where tippers cannot reach, over walls or fences saves time and effort, not double handling.

Tipper truck reg WA13 BHV. At 9.20am, 28th feb on the A379 Exeter. Driver (I will refrain from using his name) was transporting rocks/top soil? to wherever. I was driving behind him as he hit a pot hole in the road and went to overtake him as I did this I watched 2 large rocks came from his tipper truck and caused damage to the bonnet of my car (he saw this happen through his wing mirror) I then proceeded to come in to the second lane flashing my lights in attempt for him to pull over so we could swap insurance details. He failed to do so probably as he knew he was carrying an unsafe load! I have reported this to Towens as soon as I pulled over after the driver refusing to stop. Have I had 1 courtesy call back from the "transport manager"? No! Had these rocks hit my windscreen, the incident could have been a whole lot worse. I have reported the incident to the police and insurance, I then made a Facebook post in the hope of a witness coming forward as was many people on the road at the time (1 of which has!) to then find a Towens employee has basically commented and told me to claim off the council as the rocks came from the pothole. Really? For the minor damage I wasn't going to bother with this review, but for the lack of empathy and ignorance of Towens employees, I will now leave this review and process my claim!

We live on a small residential road where Redrow are building new houses. It was a cul de sac so you can imagine how small it was. Towens are visiting site each day to collect topsoil. There is a restricted 5 mph sign on our road. However towens employees seem to be blind as they obviously don't see it as they hurtle out of the site and through our small roads. There will be a major accident if they don't slow down. We phoned Towens management and asked them politely to slow the drivers down. It has fallen on death ears as the lorries are still speeding. It really is disgusting. Management please do something NOW
