Alan Hadley

We are licensed to handle a wide variety of waste types including mixed construction & demolition waste, wood, plasterboard, green waste, and much more. Ernest Hadley founded the business in 1933 delivering sand and gravel using a horse and cart; supplies were hand dug from land at Shinfield. Alan Hadley, Ernest's nephew, took over the business in 1946 and in the spirit of recycling that has been the cornerstone of the business since, started to grow his fleet by buying ex military vehicles. Hadleys believe in sustainable solutions and we are passionate about conserving the planet's natural resources; we have a responsibility to the environment in which we operate.

Alan Hadley Ltd, or Hadleys as we are usually known, has a history going back over 60 years. During that time we have served the businesses and people of the Thames Valley and have our roots in the local community. Hadleys is part of the Claude Fenton Group. Our main operating site is at Sheffield Bottom, just outside Theale, with our offices and workshop in Theale itself. We are a dedicated waste management business. We serve businesses and organisations large and small, from national house builders to local schools, as well as providing skips to household customers.

Our goal is to recycle 100% of the waste we handle. We are not there yet but by investing in the latest equipment and continually improving our processes we are getting ever closer. The major investment in a purpose built waste recycling facility just outside Reading is the latest step in moving towards the 100% target. Gypsum products such as plasterboard must be segregated and processed at a licensed recycling facility. Please contact us and we can help you make all the correct arrangements for its safe disposal.
