M. Large Tree Services Ltd first started operating as a one-man, part-time business in 1970, becoming full-time in 1980 and eventually becoming a family owned limited company in 1992. Since then M.Large Tree Services Ltd has developed into one of the largest suppliers of new and used forestry equipment in the UK, with over 500 machines sold each year. In addition we have also developed our own range of forestry machinery and accessories under our LMS Design brand which are all featured on the site.

M.Large Tree Services Ltd was founded in 1970 by Michael Large and operated as a sole trader until 1992 when the business became a family owned limited company. Initially concentrating on forestry and arboricultural/tree works contracting, our range of activities has expanded and diversified over the last 20 years to include. The company is now one of the most successful and prominent companies in it's field, with a multi million turnover, and it continues to grow year on year. We are well resourced with a strong focus on investing in our infrastructure to facilitate excellence in customer delivery in all aspects of our commercial work.

Tree surgery is one of the most dangerous occupations in the UK. With so many companies around now that offer tree surgery and tree services at a variety of prices and standards, it is hard to know who to trust when it comes to managing, caring for and safely removing your trees. M.Large have the experience, skills and specialised equipment to cover all aspects of the work from ‘enquiry to completion'. M.Large always adopt best working and safety practices and strive to keep abreast of new developments in working methods to minimise duration, disturbance and any resources needed to complete projects and jobs safely and efficiently.

M. Large have been specialists in Tree Surveys for many years and have developed a detailed and extensive knowledge of the local planning process and of the unique tree health and landscape history pertaining to Northern Ireland. With our fully qualified and highly experienced Arboriculturalist teams in-house we are confident that we can provide the best Tree Consultancy and Tree Survey services available. We provide a comprehensive, efficient and reliable service covering all aspects of Arboriculture from tree surveys, ecology reports and woodland management to tree surgery operations and planting schemes.

Our main depot is located in Newtownabbey, which in the outer Belfast area is a highly popular industrial hub. Our main vehicle and plant yard extends to approximately 9000 m and also includes modern office and workshops. We have over 5000 ft of modern warehouse space which is clean, dry and fully racked with ample spare capacity for expansion as needed. In addition to our main depot we also have a newly acquired 11500 ft warehouse only 2.5 miles from our existing facility in the popular and well serviced Mallusk industrial area.

M.Large have been supplying firewood for many years now. With the burgeoning Northern Ireland market for wood energy appliances like boilers and stoves, our sales of bulk and bagged firewood have seen huge increases in the last few years. Bulk Firewood is usually sold by volume and not weight to allow for varying moisture content in the wood (we wouldn't want to charge you for rainwater!). If you haven't the storage or transport facilities for bulk firewood then we also stock and sell firewood in net bags to conveniently throw in your car boot.

M.Large are acutely aware of our impact in and on the surrounding environment in our daily operations and our ethos is to act and operate responsibly in all of our undertakings and operations. We employ an energy efficient ethos in respect of staff awareness to conserve energy via lighting and appliance use. Our offices are heated by means of a large onsite wood boiler which is fuelled by a supply of offcuts from our stocks. This ensures comfortable work areas and a plentiful supply of hot water when needed.
