Whilst VSM offer a full on-site one year warranty, we provide maintenance contracts to ensure that your CCTV operates as new as when it was first installed. Over time, equipment will not only age but also environmental changes can affect the operational characteristics of your system, without maintenance even the most effective equipment will deteriorate, during our service we aim to service and adjust your system to ensure it reaches the optimum performance level as its first commissioning. We ensure cameras work well, recordings still work properly, quality is maintained, user access is reviewed and the system still achieves its intended purpose.

During the latter part of the 1970's we saw the invention of the domestic video tape recorders VCR's which was primarily used for recording TV programs, these were later developed to run slowly and record images from analogue camera's frame by frame in time lapse to become a CCTV (closed circuit television) system. Normally this only gave a 1 day recording and video cassette tapes were changed routinely every day. By the end of the 1990's the DVR (digital Video Recorder) had arrived, no more daily changing of video cassette tapes, as the images were store on HDD (hard disc drive).
