Lloyd Christie Garden Architecture, are based in Richmond, London, with workshops in Oxford and Essex, have designed and manufactured quality conservatories, orangeries, gazebos, arbours, trellises and decking for over 20 years. We have set the benchmark for quality of design and attention to detail in bespoke garden architecture in the UK. All designs are carried out at our design offices in Richmond. Our Oxford workshop manufactures our bespoke conservatories, orangeries, verandahs & garden rooms summerhouses gazebos and seating arbours, and our Essex based workshop manufactures our traditional and contemporary trelliswork, pergolas, decking and as well as and our plant containers & obelisks.
What are your conservatories made of? Our buildings are made from extremely durable hardwood. Obvious advantages of using timber as opposed to other materials are its natural warmth, its ability to be moulded, shaped and the quality of finish obtainable. We use both toughened and laminated glass for our double-glazed windows. Many of our manufacturing techniques are traditional but we use modern techniques and modern materials where these processes are superior. What maintenance is required? To keep maintenance to a minimum, at every stage of the design we look at making each building more durable.
Our expertise in traditional joinery methods combined with state of the art woodworking machinery and modern timber finishes, mean that whatever structure we make, weather it's a simple window box, an ornate garden trellis or a grand conservatory it will be something we are proud of. Many modern conservatories tend to be additional rooms tacked to the rear or side of a house, we at Lloyd Christie feel that a contemporary conservatory should go far beyond making just a bit of extra space; it should add character, bring light into the entire house, provide a combined living, dining and kitchen area and become the new hub of the house.
