At this stage the project is handed over to the contractor to implement the build in accordance with the design team's specification. Depending on the procurement, a contract administrator is appointed and the architects & engineers may be retained to inspect works as the build progresses. We recently had Building Regulation drawings prepared for a small ground floor extension to our house. We have also received quotes from builders and we are ready to begin construction. A friend suggested that we should have some sort of written agreement or contract in place, is this necessary?
