Named after the region in South Africa, famous for its beautiful landscape and stunning diamonds, The Kimberley Hotel is one of Harrogate's hidden gems. Offering 70 beautifully appointed bedrooms; each of which offers modern luxury. The Kimberley is the ideal base for both business and pleasure. Its proximity to the Conference Centre makes it perfect for delegates attending a business meeting or conference and also for using as a base to visit The Great Yorkshire Show and many other local attractions.
Group of 5 (2 rooms) stayed for 1 night. No room for parking on the car park (only 6) but reception gave us a ticket to park on the road for free. Even allowed us to move the car after checkout next day on to car park. Rooms were bright and spacious, tastefully decorated and wine, water, tea coffee and chocolates on arrival. Plenty of choice for evening meal and all seated together. Service was excellent and restaurant staff very helpful. Food came quickly and was delicious! Didn't expect to be seated together for breakfast as we came down at 9.30 but staff had unexpectedly reserved a table for us which was really lovely. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly. We all really enjoyed our stay and said we would recommend to friends and family but especially work colleagues as it's a stones throw from the conference centre. Thanks Team Kimberley!
Great hotel, good location all staff very friendly. Richard on reception very good knowledge of where to go around harrogate. He recommended the signature restaurant in the hotel, very good deal for 49 for a 3 course meal & a bottle of wine for 2.would recommend this place. X
On arrival it was like a cattle market trying to get checked in.we stayed half board but the evening meal was a set menu and the food was very poor.we ordered what was supposed to be shepherds pie it was full of tomatoes and some kind of minced lamb it was digusting and when I complained the waitress hadn't a clue what to do and took my bowl (which was what the pie was in) and offered me macaroni cheese which turned out to be fish and it was burnt on top and it was took away with nothing else offered.br eakfast on the other hand was a buffet and enjoyable. The hotel bar prices are extortionate and on average each drink was 5.00 for a small glass of wine. The bedrooms where clean and tidy but very out dated although comfortable. There is no entertainment at all which was disappointing. All in all we won't be returning to this hotel and I rate it a 2*
