Award-Winning Sustainable Architecture & Design Solutions
Blee Halligan is a RIBA-registered architectural practice founded on the principle that architecture should enrich daily life through its connection to the environment. Established over a decade ago by Greg Blee and Lee Halligan, our firm specialises in creating resilient, context-driven designs tailored to delicate coastal ecosystems. Our approach prioritises ecological, historical, and cultural sensitivity, moving beyond generic sustainability to deliver timeless architecture that harmonises with its surroundings. With offices in London and the Turks and Caicos Islands, we apply this philosophy to projects ranging from private villas to large-scale masterplans. Our work has earned five RIBA Awards, a longlisting for RIBA House of the Year, and recognition in publications such as The Daily Telegraph and Architectural Record.

We combine scientific rigour with aesthetic beauty, ensuring each project reflects its unique environment while meeting the highest standards of design and construction. Our multidisciplinary team includes experts in hurricane-resistant construction, landscape integration, and sustainable materials, enabling us to tackle challenges in some of the worlds most demanding locations. This commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship has positioned us as leaders in contemporary architecture that respects both place and people.

Services
Villa Design
We create bespoke villas that integrate seamlessly with their natural surroundings. Our designs prioritise climatic sensitivity and material appropriateness, ensuring each home enhances its landscape while offering modern comfort. Projects like Windbreak and Derwent Valley Villa demonstrate our ability to balance aesthetic beauty with functional resilience in diverse environments.
Masterplanning
Our masterplanning services focus on sustainable, context-driven development strategies. We design holistic communities that respect ecological systems and cultural heritage, as seen in the South Bank microgeography masterplan. This approach ensures long-term viability and harmony with local ecosystems across large-scale projects.
Sustainable Architecture
We embed environmental stewardship into every project through innovative sustainable practices. Our work exceeds standard sustainability measures by incorporating site-specific ecological research. This includes energy-efficient systems, locally sourced materials, and designs that mitigate climate change impacts on coastal structures.
Hurricane-Resistant Buildings
We specialise in constructing buildings that withstand extreme weather conditions in vulnerable coastal areas. Our techniques combine robust materials with aerodynamic design principles, as demonstrated in projects like Blue Cay and South Bank developments. This expertise ensures safety and longevity in hurricane-prone regions.
Landscape Integration
Our approach ensures buildings become an organic extension of their environment. By studying geological forms, vegetation patterns, and cultural context, we create architecture that appears naturally rooted in its location. This philosophy is evident in projects like Dune House and Aeolian residences.
