Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors is an independent partnership of residential and commercial property consultants and surveyors offering a full range of surveying, design, project and property management services across Southern England. Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors, is an independent partnership of residential and commercial property consultants and surveyors. Founded in 1992 with the aim of providing a comprehensive service to clients on all property related matters, the business has since significantly expanded, although the professional aim has remained unchanged. In April 2013 the partnership became Daniells Harrison Surveyors LLP but still continues to trade as Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors. Celebrating over 25 years in business, the unique liaison between Chartered Building and General Practice Surveyors has earned us a reputation of which we all are proud.

Building Consultancy or Building Surveying is the most diverse division of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Our team of Chartered Building Surveyors use their expertise to provide advice on a wide variety of property issues. We have key skills to guide you through acquisition, occupation, disposal, development, repair and refurbishment of all types of property. Many aspects of our work overlap, not only with the variety of roles we cover within Building Consultancy but also with our colleagues in the Valuation and Architectural departments.

Our East Sussex office opened in Eastbourne in August 2010, and moved to our current location in Hailsham in October 2010. The office provides a full range of building surveying and valuation services to a wide range of clients.

Our client base includes local and mainland-based companies, public bodies and private individuals. As an independent local firm of chartered surveyors, we have provided objective and reliable advice to thousands of clients buying Isle of Wight property. Buildings are generally constructed for a specific purpose and will eventually become tired or require adapting or refurbishing to suit the changing needs of the existing or new occupier. From inception to completion, the construction knowledge of a Chartered Building Surveyor will prove invaluable for each key stage of the building refurbishment project. Working with our in-house Architectural Services department we offer a complete service for alterations, extensions and building refurbishment schemes.

Since the implementation of the Party Wall etc Act 1996 our surveyors have continually acted as Party Wall surveyors. The duty of the Party Wall surveyor is a statutory role and the Act controls all work to party walls, party fence walls and excavations within 3 and 6 metres of the adjoining owner's buildings. Instructed to act as either the building owner's surveyor, adjoining owner's surveyor or the agreed surveyor we will advise on the requirements under the Party Wall Act, prepare and issue or respond to Notices issued under the Act, prepare Schedules of Condition and Party Wall Awards for both residential and commercial clients.

When considering the purchase of a commercial property, or entering into a new lease with repairing covenants, our commercial building surveyors can undertake an inspection and technical due diligence assessment to identify the current condition and provide strategic advice on defects, repairs and liabilities.

Our architectural plans are focused to achieve compliance with current building regulations and energy reduction standards. We prepare detailed drawings to demonstrate the necessary information to comply with the current building regs to obtain building regulation approval. We offer an extensive service that includes submission of building regulation applications for (Full Plan) approval. We will also enter into negotiations with Building Inspectors on site (Building Notice method) to ensure an efficient and effective building process and compliance.

With our architectural drawings and visuals we provide a comprehensive design service for a range of projects from conversion schemes to new build developments. We endeavor to realise the Clients' visions through an appraisal of the project and to graphically represent the ideas for approval. Our in-house Architect will advise on the practicalities and scope of the design; ensuring these meet with statutory regulations. For developers we seek to design cost effective buildings that are constructed efficiently to enable low energy usage and minimal maintenance.

The architectural design department at Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors is under the direction of our Chartered Architect Gary Wensley BA(Arch)(Hons), DipArch RIBA. Our architectural services provide a full building design service for an extensive range of projects. We undertake work on a variety of buildings and structures including: residential, commercial and industrial, leisure, education, health, historic, conservation and listed buildings. Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors provide a comprehensive range of services extending from initial ideas and feasibility studies, statutory approvals through to completion of building works on site.

Our Commercial Property Agency activities concentrate in south Hampshire, West Sussex and Isle of Wight. We deal with retail, industrial and office property both for sale and to let. Daniells Harrison Chartered Surveyors act for occupiers, investors and Local Authorities in the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold commercial property. We also instigate new development projects working with developer clients. Our commercial acquisition advice co-ordinates all of the specialist elements of the business though our commercial property management team.
