We have visited Fairfax House a couple of times and found out more and more about it's history. This beautiful property is a hidden gem near Clifford's Tower, which once bordered the propertie's front garden. How's that for a garden feature! Unfortunately the house was used for various things over the years, ruining the original layout. But what we can see today is a lovingly restored house displaying some of it's original grandeur.
A hidden gem, but in full view to anyone who just opens their eyes. We've walked past this building so many times on visits to York, but have never considered going through the doors. However, on a recent visit to Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley, a room guide there recommended Fairfax House as a great place to visit.
