A Building Survey is an extensive investigation into the condition and construction of a building. The survey provides an analysis of the defects to inform purchasers of the overall condition of the building. A building survey is sometimes referred to as a structural survey. The survey does not include a valuation of the property but is intended to provide an analysis of the defects to inform the purchaser of the overall condition of the property. The survey is a non-destructive survey, which will advise on timber decay and movement within the structure which could have an adverse affect on the property.
