All species of tree can be protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) from a single tree to all trees within a defined area. If your trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order, if you are within a Conservation Area or the trees are protected by a condition attached to a planning permission, then you will need consent for the works, however small. To protect our environment, species and habitats in the UK, there are many pieces of legislation to adhere to when considering vegetation clearance works.
