Master-planning is a key factor in good architecture. The relationships created through the position and orientation of buildings in relation to their surrounding context has a huge impact on the success of a space. We recognise that master-planning can range from small-scale areas within tight urban spaces to large, rolling greenfield developments. Our experience has been demonstrated in this sector for a variety of residential and mixed-use schemes for housebuilders, local authorities and private developers.

Building exteriors are only the start of the experience and our all-embracing building design services include both the space planning and interior design. We pride ourselves on the clarity of thought and cohesiveness with which we create a natural transition from outside to in, maintaining a continuous theme throughout. Our services cover all aspects from concept through material selection and finishes coordination to accord with a client's budget, down to detailed component design.

From inception to completion, brp architects can work with you to deliver your buildings, whether this is provided via a full service appointment as outlined in the RIBA Plan of Work or on a partial 'stage by stage' basis. We pride ourselves on being flexible regarding the terms of our appointment, and will consider each potential project individually. Therefore should you wish to only take a project up until the submission of a planning application or would like us to provide the detailed design for a scheme originally designed by a third party then this partial service is something that we can consider.

Alan has been a partner / director of the practice since 2000 and is primarily involved with the management and development of the business alongside continuing to be a practicing architect committed to design excellence and client satisfaction. He has extensive experience across the various architectural sectors and is widely experienced in the design of healthcare and community buildings for NHS and private healthcare organisations. Having over 20 years experience in healthcare sector, Alan has been the author of several schemes that have been published in medical journals and has had projects exhibited at the British Medical Association.
