On existing buildings Andrew Townsend Architect's approach involves developing a brief with clients to meet their specific needs combined with respect for the well-being of the existing building and setting; ATA's approach to the conservation and adaption of buildings in our care aims to ensure their long-term, sustainable future. Our new work in ancient settings has a recognisable signature based on the formulation of an appropriate design idiom in which form, scale and detailing are compatible with the existing buildings.
