RugArt is specialised in rug restoration and rug cleaning with years of experience and dedication. It is not just a job we do, it is also a passion. You can rest assured that your rug is in right hands as we certainly appereciate the value of rugs and we guarantee all our work. Over usage and age, your rug may start loosing some of its pile, knots may become loose, holes may appear or fringes - side cords may come off. Like any other woven material, rugs can be repaired or restored. Any repair or restoration job, when done properly, will look excatly same as the rest of the rug.

Restoration can go as far as re-weaving a significantly large worn / missing area of a rug or simply putting fringes together. When necessary, we use hand spun wool & tailor made vegetable dyes individually mixed for colour matching. We do not use machinery to repair rugs as they will do more harm to your rug, all the jobs done by hand weaving or knotting through the foundations of the rug. We perform the type or repair work that is right for each rug while keeping within customer's wishes. Each rug we deal with is examined to determine the appropriate job, whether it will be restoration or simple repair work.

Because we have been in the trade for many years, we have good relations with wholesalers, dealers and collectors. We also have our own collection of new, old and antique pieces. Any particular piece you may have in mind can be found through these sources at competitive prices. If you are not sure about which origin and design, we can provide sound advise depending on your preference of tones, motifs and fibre. Once we are instructed, we can deliver an appropriate selection of rugs (5 to 7 pieces) to your home for you to view in your own environment and privacy.

Wool, silk and cotton are natural fibers collecting dust over time and need to be cleaned regularly. Fine rugs made with natural fibres need to be washed thoroughly in order to preserve them at their best. Rugs, due to their structure as a woven material, also accumulate dirt at the bottom of pile and over time this may cause 'dry rot' destroying the foundations. As well as enhancing your rug's aesthetic beauty, a full immerse hand wash will also prolong its life because all the dirt attached to fibres and foundations will be removed.
