Established in 1912 by Horace Butterfield, H. Butterfield started trading as a builders' merchant in Dudley Street, Luton. A brick making associate company was also formed in those early years, with production continuing through until the mid 1950s. The Company was incorporated in 1936 with Ernest Worboys appointed as one of the original directors. He was later followed by his sons working in and directing the business, and his influence continues to this day with two of the current working directors providing the third generation of family involvement.
The landscaping market has developed rapidly over recent years as ongoing high profile media exposure has increased awareness and demand for landscaping products. We have gained a reputation for excellence in both service and supply, carrying large and varied stocks of material. We deal with all aspects of the trade from Landscape Architects, Garden Designers, Landscape Contractors, Developers and Builders as well as placing great importance on our general public customer base. We are active members of BALI (British Association of Landscaping Industries).
We carry an extensive and ever developing stock range from a variety of well known manufacturers. We aim to provide the complete building supplies package to all our customers, both trade and retail. We offer both delivery and collection facilities for all of our products, with our yard staff trained in the use of a range of handling equipment.
