Mark is an amazing vet that truly shows a love for animals in the attention and interest he pays to them. He is generous with his time and extremely helpful in explaining things - which is so different to the experience I have had with "chain" vets. My dog Rosie visited him today for the first time after trying to find a good vet in the local area, and I am so pleased we visited the avevenue practice. Also, the reception staff are very efficient and have a lovely manner with customers. All of our four dogs will now be looked after by Mark.

Lovely friendly practice. Treated all of my animals over twenty years now and would not go anywhere else despite moving twenty miles away. Very recently treated my very sick dog who in the end had to be put to sleep dealt with us in a fantastic caring way and gave us time and space to grieve. Would recommend defiantly this practice to everyone. Five out of five and beyond. K & P Wheeler

We have been taking our dogs to AVC for many years, but last Sunday my estimation went up. A notch. After taking Dill our Lab out for his usual morning stroll (he's 11 now) we returned to the house where he became disoriented and was in some distress, we quickly walked him up to AVC staple hill, where he was seen straight away by the vet, he had a haematoma in his ear which the vet quickly drained and gave Dill an injection of anti biotics, and within 20 mins we were walking back home, I think we were lucky that the practice was open at just the right time but saying that the staff were wonderful. Thanks.

What's new?

Get ready for cuteness overload - here is Bentley visiting for a free pre-vaccination check. We encourage new owners to get their puppy checked by the vet ASAP then settle into their new home for a few days before starting vaccines. Nurse Alex is helping with the all-important socialising, even during a pandemic.

Why do we vaccinate pets? Dog owners of a certain age might recall the highly infectious disease 'distemper', which once ravaged the canine population with a mortality rate of approximately 50%. Well it's diseases like this that UK dog owners have worked so hard to reduce to very low incidence.
