This year the Society have asked people to talk to their neighbours (social distancing permitting of course!) to try and make the whole street or neighbourhood hedgehog friendly. The idea is that everyone talks to at least 5 people and gets them to join the cause by making a 14cm x 14cm gap in the bottom of their fences or walls to create a Hedgehog Highway so that hedgehogs can move easily from one garden to another! There are lots of other jobs the whole family can get busy with such as constructing a log pile to provide both shelter and food for hedgehogs or creating a feeding station with meaty cat or dog food for hedgehogs to eat at night, just make sure it can't be stolen by neighbourhood cats.
