Wakeley and Toms have been producing quality joinery in Bournemouth since 1957. Throughout this time we have worked hard to develop good relationships with many local builders, carpenters and property developers and provide them all with high class bespoke joinery products. The quality of service we offer extends to our private customers who we have served over many years and in some cases several generations! Using our well equipped machine shop and joinery facilities we can produce anything from a single casement sash or a length of skirting board to a house full of wooden windows or a new conservatory in many different types of Softwood or Hardwood.

Wakeley and Toms was formed in 1957 by Gordon Toms and John Wakeley. They started out from a small workshop in Stewart Road, Bournemouth eventually moving to our present premises in Southcote Road during the harsh winter of 1963. Gordon's son Steve took over the day to day running of the business in 1984 and continues to do so. We pride ourselves in offering a personal service to our clients no matter how large or small the job is, offering free advice and a measuring service. We work with many local builders, property developers and the Local Council providing high quality joinery products.

Do you have a vulnerable door that requires upgrading with a good quality 5 lever lock or a high security Cylinder lock? We can supply and fit new locks that meet BS3621: 2004 and satisfy insurance requirements. We can also fit security bolts, locks and window restrictors to existing windows and doors to help keep your property safe. Using our well equipped machine shop and joinery facilities we can produce anything from a single casement sash or a length of skirting board to a house full of wooden windows or a new conservatory in many different types of Softwood or Hardwood.

We can supply and fit standard size frames and doors or we can produce odd size and shaped doors and frames in our workshop to fit any opening. All our doors and frames are made using traditional Mortise and Tenon joints that are glued and wedged. The beauty of purpose made joinery is that you can have whatever you want, whether you prefer all wood, fully glazed, half glazed, contemporary or traditional - we can manufacture the door of your choice in either softwood or most types of hardwood. We can provide you with a new frame for your door, with sidelights or borrowed light above.
