Granite is a hard-wearing material with range of features that makes it ideal for worktops. With its natural distinctive characteristics, granite in its many forms is still prevalent in interior design across the UK. Granite is available in a variety of colours, natural effects of course, as well as finishes such as polished, honed and textured. The stone is extremely durable and in addition presents heat resistant, stain resistant and scratch resistant properties. Due to staining and scratching being almost inevitable, it is recommended mainly for soft applications and surfaces with light use such as Vanity Tops, Shelves, Window Cills, etc. Despite its characteristics, it can be used as a Kitchen Worktop if you don't mind a more rustic, ‘used' look. Marble can add luxury to any space and is available in a variety of colours, as well as finishes such as polished and honed.
