This machine enables Alwel to polish and chamfer Mirrors of any shape and size, brilliant for polishing glass for table tops or shelves. We are a small local company who have been operating in West Cumbria for more than 27 years, initially as a plumbing and glazing company, moving over solely to glass in the late seventies. Glass has now become a more specialist product.
Our Stock consists mainly of Glass in thicknesses from 2mm - 10mm, Mirror in 4mm and 6mm, we also stock Wired Safety Glass both Clear and Obscure and Laminate Safety Glass, ceramic glass for wood burners, and 4mm and 6mm polycarbonate the more robust thicker glass and toughened glass we have to order in, this takes approximately 3-5 working days. We have a large stock of horticultural glass in ready cut sizes together with clips and fasteners. We have in our showroom a display of clamps and fasteners used in the assembly of glass balustrades and staircases, we also have samples of glass bevels and coloured glass splash backs.
We supply and fit everything connected with glass i.e. broken or failed double glazed units, single glazing into timber frames, glass shop fronts, glass balustrades and staircases, mirrors, shelves and coloured glass splash backs. We also offer a 24hr call out service. We can provide and install double glazed units and glass partitions for a number of local construction companies. We also sub contract to various national companies re-fitting shop windows, they feel they would rather use a local company they can rely on, than travel the length of the country to fit one piece of glass.
