Euroak make floors. Designs from English, Scottish and European hardwoods. Something for walking up and down on, or a floor seen once and never again. Our home is on the historic Castletown Estate in North Cumbria where we work away among the trees, sheep, rain and sawdust, growing your hardwood floor. From December 3rd our showroom will once again be open by appointment. You will have the showroom all to yourself for as long as you need to discuss your project. For anyone needing accessories, these can be picked up by prior arrangement.

Up here in North Cumbria a stone's throw from the Scottish Border Euroak are making unique hardwood floors from European, English and Scottish timbers and the occasional one from reclaimed sources. Miles from anywhere we produce floors as cool and smart as anything you'll see in places much cooler and smarter than our famous tin barn. Native and European stock is converted into solid and engineered panels, parquet and panelling. This can be supplied unfinished for you to complete on site in the time honoured fashion, or we can do this for you in our workshop and supply you with a pre-finished, ready to walk on floor.

Bear in mind, a well installed hardwood floor can last a lifetime and possibly several. Hardwood isa very slow growing material, it can take over a hundred years to grow. If you are going to replaceyour floor every time you change your curtains, you don't deserve it. Get a carpet. Personal taste is subjective and not getting it right is not the end of the world. On the other handyou must be aware of a few practical limitations of hardwood flooring in certain situations. To a lesser extent, lack of moisture due to high temperatures or low humidity can also affecttimber adversely causing the flooring to shrink.
