Very much involved in the renovation of his mid-victorian home, including the interior design and furnishing, David had a clear picture of the style he wanted to achieve. Established over 20 years ago, bespoke kitchen manufacturer Davonport, out grew their existing premises and relocated their production and showroom to a 1.2 acre site in Colchester. Working within a specified budget we were tasked with selecting a range of tiles and wood flooring to compliment eight new executive homes, with easy access to the River Blackwater.

A year spent travelling before returning to the UK to carry on our respective careers in wood flooring and tiles, convinced us that we should work together. In 2012, our appetite to satisfy this shared ambition led us to combine our knowledge and experience to form Eden Clay, and open our first store dedicated to our two favourite products. Eden Clay have come a long way since beginning as two individuals set on serving local businesses and retail customers with products sourced from UK distributors.

Our showroom is accessed by private driveway, that leads to ample parking directly in front of our barn. We currently occupy three barns on the same site. One of our barns is used to hold stock of our tiles, wood flooring and ancillary products, one is for production of our wood flooring while our main barn houses our showroom. Previously used as offices, our barn was fully refurbished in 2012 to create the ideal showroom for our customers and our products. With our gallery style layout and focus on customer support not sales, the result is a relaxed environment where time can be taken to browse our products and have your project questions answered.

We welcome all of our clients to our showroom where they can view over 2500 square feet of wood flooring and tiles on display. Our showroom is accessed by private driveway, that leads to amply parking directly in front of our barn. With samples available to takeaway and knowledgable staff on hand for exceptional advice, and exceptional coffee, why would you not visit.

Our wood flooring and tiles are designed to last but carrying out regular and correct maintenance will ensure they remain protected and beautiful indefinitely. As well as downloads detailing the best products and methods for cleaning and maintaining your chosen wood floor or tile, we offer a maintenance service tailored to your product. All advice and instructions contained in our downloads are put together using the latest information available from several sources including The Tile Association, the Flooring Industry Training Association and our brand manufacturers, but are for guidance purposes only.

Renovating your wood flooring or tiles allows you to keep and renew original features like parquet flooring or Victorian tiles and is often a cheaper alternative to replacing them. It is however a labour of love that requires undertaking by experienced patient professionals. Restoration is a particular passion of ours, and something we have done from the beginning. Having been fortunate enough to work on numerous restorations, including several heritage sites, we are accomplished at breathing new life into old wood flooring and tiles.

Every wood floor that leaves our warehouse is designed and hand finished by a member of our staff here in the UK. With over 150 wood floors in our portfolio, that's a lot of hand finishing. Producing our wood flooring this way not only gives us great control of the final finish but it also gives our staff unparalleled levels of experience in hand making wood floors that we put to use creating bespoke pieces. The designing of a bespoke wood floor is a collaboration with our clients, who often have a clear idea of the aesthetic they want, but when inspiration is required we draw on a plethora of samples as a starting point and hone the final finish to achieve their desired result.

Excellent workmanship. Excellent service and products.
