I wouldn’t have said changing the carpets in the house was a cathartic experience but it has proved to be just that. We contacted John as soon as they were open after the lockdown. Social Distancing and anti bac in place. John came out a few days later to measure up and, in retrospect, I can confirm the accuracy of his measurements. (As one of the most experienced in the industry I suppose that was a given). The fitters arrived promptly yesterday and were exceptionally efficient and quick. Michael worked non stop and they were finished early afternoon. He was pleasant and wouldn’t cut corners - we had to move every book on the bookcase (!) and empty the cupboards so that they could move it and fit underneath. After moving the unit back in place Michael made it more secure with a few extra screws. I was motivated to weed out the books so it all looks much less cluttered. I had already had a bit of a clearance during lockdown so this encouraged me to do that last little bit. We are both delighted with the carpet and the service so, our thanks to all.
