Welcome to the Oakleaf website, and we hope you enjoy your visit. As manufacturers of period mouldings (cast in our unique resin-based material, and produced at these premises), we can help you to create beautiful interiors, examples of which are illustrated throughout this site. Whether you require old oak beams to create a rustic cottage interior, or antique panelling trimmed by some of our ornate embellishments, we hope you will find what you need. If not, please contact us! We have reproduction beams cast from oak originals to create a rustic cottage interior, a farmhouse, traditional-style kitchens and more.

When my father, Ben Banister, formed Oakleaf in 1969, his key objective was to manufacture the finest reproduction oak products available. More than 40 years later, I am proud to say we regard the quality of our products with exactly the same importance today. Through the unique moulding and hand-finishing processes developed over the years, we are able to provide customers with an enormous range of convincing decorative mouldings - from rustic, rough-hewn oak beams typical of the 17th century, to delicate gilt fillet and paterae of the 18th century - from dark-stained wall-panelling of the Jacobean period, to paint finishes of the present day.

The atmosphere generated by old oak panelling is unique. Its crookedness and asymmetry evolved over centuries of settlement, wear and tear, such that an old panelled room somehow feels reliable and trustworthy. By carefully selecting masters from genuine 17th century oak panelling, our special moulding process picks up every detail of the hand-riven and carved original. The replicas we create bear all the unevenness and character peculiar to ancient oakwork, and our hand-stained and aged finishes complete the picture.

Unaffected by moisture, our products do not suffer the movement and resultant cracking of real wood in damp or centrally heated situations. Consequently, they are ideal for use in bathrooms and swimming pools.

Whilst few of us are lucky enough to live in an old farmhouse, traditional-style kitchens can be installed in houses of any age. A period setting can easily be created with the addition of our reproduction beams.
