Inside Story Interiors was started as a home based business in 2003 in Gosport, Hampshire by Kerry Scivier. Kerry had been making curtains and blinds for many years prior to starting Inside Story and had gained qualifications in interior design and curtain making. Having grown the customer base of the business and also having had experience in working in a local curtain shop, Kerry decided to spread her wings and opened her own shop in Gosport in 2009. In 2014, Kerry was joined by her husband who had recently left the Royal Navy.
All of our curtains are hand made and can be hand or machine sewn dependant on required finish and budget. We use premium quality cotton sateen linings which can be supplied in black-out if required. A variety of headings can be chosen for your curtains, please see below for options. All curtains are weighted and in the case of pencil pleat headings, will be gathered using cord retainers and a cord pocket. We have an extensive range of fabrics to choose from or alternatively, you can supply your own fabric.
We can supply most types of blinds which are all made to measure. Romans, Venetians, Rollers, Verticals, Vision, Perfect Fit and Intu blinds can all be ordered and we can provide a full fitting service if required. In the case of Roman blinds, we can supply a wide range of fabrics or alternatively, you can provide your own. All of our blinds and fittings are complaint with the latest health and safety legislation and British Standards. Where applicable, electric hard wired of plug-in operatied blinds can be supplied and fitted.
Inside Story Interiors can provide upholstery services from something simple like re-covering dining room chair seat pads to re-covering a three piece suite. We can supply a wide range of upholstery ompatible fabrics which can be made fire retardant or we can use barrier cloth to comply with current fire safety regulations. Home visits can be arranged and are free or make an appointment to discuss your requirements at our fully equipped home studio.
Inside Story Interiors provides a wide range of services from bespoke hand-made curtains and blinds to track and pole installations. We have a wide range of fabrics to choose from and a big selection of colourways for all types of blinds. A complete home measure and fitting service can be provided and all consultations and estimates are free of charge. We can also provide upholstery and furniture restoration services ranging from dining seat pads to full furniture re-upholstery.
Kerry and John have dressed all the windows in my house and summer house, they are currently sorting the blinds for my conservatory. Their workmanship and professionalism is beyond reproach, in short they do a fantastic job for a fair price. I would not buy blinds or curtains from anyone else!
