Fowler & Co offers a complete furniture design and manufacture service: from bespoke joinery to consultancy on architectural projects and product prototyping. From our workshop in Newhaven, East Sussex, we work solely with sustainable FSC certified timbers and use our expert knowledge of complementary materials and fittings to finish every commission exactingly to brief. Having founded the business in 1986, designer Ben Fowler works to the most challenging of demands and budgets for major high street brands, architects, private and corporate clients.

Our Shiny Benches appear to balance on point, vanishing into the environment. This playful garden furniture suite was first commissioned by TTP for Melbourn Science Park and the benches later batch produced by Alexander Rose Ltd. This imposing Kontiki Bench commissioned by TTP for Melbourn Science Park is designed to simulate the experience of sitting in a forest. The sweet chestnut poles are in fact entire saplings sustainably produced from forest thinnings. A giant Kirkstone slate Sundial Picnic Bench is the last of three arty concept pieces we designed and built for TTP at Melbourn Science Park.

An expansive green kirkstone slate workbench anchors the design of this Knightsbridge kitchen. To bring this luxurious interior together, materials such as ash and brushed stainless steel are taken through into the living area, for which we made a bespoke banqueting table, snooker table and storage units. This huge banqueting table appears to float atop a toughened glass pedestal base. Referencing materials used elsewhere in the interior, the table incorporates an integrated steel trivet and Ben's invisible extending table mechanism.

With Tim Boyd of Michaelis Boyd Architects we designed the joinery for the interior of Kitchen Italia at Westfield. We suggested the tables, upholstered benches and wall panelling all be made from olive ash, known for the striking tonal variations in its grain. In collaboration with Creative Director Polly Dickens, Fowler & Co created this airy, modern interior for D&D London's Kensington Place restaurant featuring comfortable upholstered benches and solid joinery.
