Since the day that Ebenezer Gomme set up his first furniture factory in 1898, G Plan has always had the same aim: to create stylish sofas and chairs that offer the highest levels of comfort and quality. Since 1953, G Plan has been a benchmark for classic British design. But what's made it such an enduring favourite is the way every sofa and chair is built for real life. This is furniture that loves to be lived on. Setting the tone for British furniture making, we have continued to grow and develop and today we are still one of the UK's biggest upholstery manufacturers.

Our design and development department is an innovative and dynamic team who ensure every detail of a G Plan sofa is perfect. If you enjoy a fast paced and creative working environment then Design and Development at G Plan is a highly rewarding and varied place to work. We employ highly skilled people into roles including - Furniture Designer, Frame CAD Technician, Development Sewing Machinist, Development Upholsterer and Gerber CAD Operator. Our team of talented craftsmen and women lovingly produce every sofa and chair by hand to order.

Here at G Plan we take great pride in our work, handcrafting to order in our Wiltshire factory. We use responsibly sourced hardwood for all load-bearing areas for superior strength and hard wearing serpentine springs for durability. We're so confident in the quality of our work that every sofa and armchair comes with a 25 Year Frame and Frame Construction Guarantee. This covers the timber frame and frame construction on models despatched from 1st November 2019 onwards. Models despatched between 2008 and 01.11.19 will still have a 10 year frame guarantee.

We've created G Plan Vintage, a stunning range of sofas and chairs inspired by our design heritage. It's a collection that embraces the quality and craftsmanship of G Plan, along with Hemingway's fresh and vibrant approach to vintage projects.
