From roller blinds to our premium Allusion blinds, we manufacture most of our wide variety of window furnishings in our Paignton workshop. We offer no-obligation home visits to measure the area you would like dressed and discuss which variety of blind you might like. If you decide to move forward, our passionate team work on your bespoke blinds and offer a friendly installation service when they are ready. Kylie has been around the business most of her life as her parents took over in 1984. Kylie is now responsible for accounts, shop displays and assisting with production where necessary.

About our business - We are an independent family owned business who have been established for 40 years and based in Paignton most of that time. We specialise in made to measure curtains, blinds, shutters and soft furnishings. Our offering is for high quality window finishes and soft furnishings for the commercial, hospitality and residential markets. The business has just been relocated to a purpose made showroom and workshops within a busy trading estate in Paignton. Our new premises provides a perfect environment for the manufacture of all our products.

The majority of our curtains are made in our on site workrooms. You can come in and browse thousands of fabrics and our competent and friendly staff can help you every step of the way from picking colours to the style of your curtains. We can produce a bespoke product so that your curtains will be one of a kind and specially designed to your taste. A small range of ready made curtains can be also be ordered within a few days. No job is too small, whether it's a small door roman blind or curtain for your home, caravan etc. to an entire hotel of soft furnishings.

We manufacture our own pleated roof blinds utilising the Louvolite Perfect Fit Internation system. This system is totally screwless and will not damage your conservatory roof. The fabrics we use are all either solar refelective or honeycomb in construction providing the best protection for your conservatory and providing you with a space which is warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. We manufacture an individual frame for each panel of your roof and slip a bracket between the glass/plastic and the rubber bead for the frame to click onto.

The clue's in the name! Roller blinds unroll to cover windows. The blind is a piece of a specific fabric, which is wrapped around a casing that goes on the top of the window frame. They come in many different models - they can be motorised, adjusted with a chain mechanism, or spring-loaded. There are many different styles to choose from, and we make most ourselves in-house at The Hessian Company in Paignton, Devon. Our vertical blinds are all made by us in our Paignton based work rooms. We utilise the high-quality Louvolite vertical blind system and manufacture with our own high-tech louvre cutting machine. This ensures a premium finish every time. As we make our blinds in Paignton, we can finish your blind in any way you like, from alternating fabrics to pet-friendly weights and various colour headrails. We can also add motorisation to your blinds for only a small extra price. All our blinds are child safe in accordance with regulations and the BBSA keep it safe campaign.

Venetian Blinds are made from slats, generally held together by a cord, but sometimes a tape too. With over 300 finishes to choose from you'll be able to find the perfect look for your home. Lying in a horizontal position, the slats let in maximum light. You can operate them by hand by pulling a cord to lift or rotate the slats, but they can also be motorised to be used with remote control. Most of our blinds come with a variety of control options. We supply wood and PVC slatted venetians in a wide selection of colours, sizes and finishes. PVC venetian blinds can be slightly cheaper and are ideal for damp environments like bathrooms but are not ideal for hot spaces like conservatory's. The blinds are are available in 38mm or 50mm slat widths and can be finished in either braid or tape. These blinds are usually available on a very fast turn around and we can measure and fit for you.

Because we are convinced of the quality of our products, we offer you particularly comprehensive warranties. On VELUX roller blinds, Venetian blinds, manual awnings and pleated blinds, we offer you a three-year warranty. On VELUX INTEGRA® roller shutters, you will receive a five-year warranty from VELUX. VELUX INTEGRA® roller shutters not only provide effective heat protection and optimal darkening, but minimise noise from rain and hail as well. In the cooler months, the additional thermal insulation effect of the roller shutters provides a comfortable atmosphere.

Perfect fit blinds are an amazing range designed by Louvolite. Initially designed for 'tilt and turn' windows, these blinds are suitable for most PVC and aluminium windows. As suggested in the name, this type of blind fits perfectly within the window frame. This means we will always be able to cater to your perfect fit needs! Inside your frame, you can choose to have either a Venetian blind (most popular), Pleated blind, roller blind or wooden Venetian blind. Some of these may also be motorised, so you can adjust them with a press of a button.
