Using a blend of cutting edge technology combined with the hand and finishing skills developed through its heritage in furniture restoration and conservation Dalbergia design, build and install high quality furniture, kitchens and upholstery. We work with private individuals, architects, interior designers and main building contractors to deliver the very best in modern craftsmanship. We care passionately about woodwork and have been working continuously to improve what we do for over 15 years. With our roots in furniture restoration and conservation where wood finishing plays a very important role Dalbergia understands the principles behind quality wood finishing whether the finish is hand applied or sprayed. We spray a complete range of finishes mainly in a water based binder which is both eco-friendly and safer for our employees. We also spray polyurethane and polyester in both clear and pigmented where an even harder wearing finish is required. Not only do we spray clear and coloured finishes we also now spray real metal paints which look and feel like real metal.

The creation of a bespoke kitchen is a complex process with a myriad of details that need to be addressed for the final design to work. For private clients we guide you through the process to ensure you end up with a design that works and materials that are appropriate to your needs. The kitchen is often the heart of the home and our focus on quality materials and finishes will give you a space that is a pleasure to use and live in. We will communicate through accurate rendered images and detailed drawings so you can understand the implications of the decisions that you make.

Our upholstery department was originally created to restore and conserve antique furniture. As well as continuing this role we now make modern sofas, chairs, headboards and beds as well as banquette seating for trade and private clients. A bespoke sofa can start from around 3,200+fabric and offers a great opportunity to have a beautifully made piece of furniture that you are likely use every day. We use quality materials and fabrics and offer advice on springing, fillings and trims. We make your sofa to any design and it will fit your space perfectly.

As a main building contractor, an interior designer, an architect or any other industry professional you can be sure that the team at Dalbergia will work with you to ensure your client's expectations are met or preferably bettered.

We handle projects in excess of 500K and this figure is increasing as we continue to develop our systems to cope with larger and more complex projects. We are also very happy to work on smaller residential projects that may require a simple piece of one off furniture, a kitchen, a cinema room or sofa. We manage risk by using our experience to develop design detail and are happy to take responsibility for CDP items. Our quotations are considered and detailed to help with the tender process. We want your client to be delighted with our work and so we constantly strive to produce work of the highest quality with particular attention paid to material selection, veneer matching, assembly techniques and finishing.

Our general ethos is to conserve rather than restore, seeking to keep original elements and to protect furniture against future damage. We carry out all aspects of restoration including the repair of marquetry and inlays including boule work. Our in house French polisher is expert at matching surface finishes. We take on projects large and small for both furniture and architectural items. Projects we have undertaken range from the re-finishing of 168 mahogany showcase doors for the British Museum to the removal of small marks from table tops, we are happy to work at either end of the scale.
