The Leak Detection Company is owned by Paul Cheney Property Services Ltd (PCPS). PCPS specialises in water damage and building insurance repairs. Once a leak has been found this should validate an 'escape of water' insurance claim. If a water leak has been happening for some time it is likely to have caused damage, and will certainly need a specialist drying operation. In some cases this will not be immediately obvious, but if left could cause secondary issues further down the line such as mould, condensation, damage to floor finishes, wood rot, blown plaster and spoiling to decoration.
Brendan, from the Leak Detection Company was unfailing polite and reassuring, explaining what he was doing at each step. He was with us all day, finding the leak and then putting in a bypass pipe as the leak was too inaccessible to repair. Two previous sets of plumbers were convinced that the leak was under our kitchen floor and we'd had some of the wooden floor taken up as a result. In fact, the leak was on a pipe in a small gap between the steel extension support and the wall. Brendan was able to take a photo with a special camera and then show us on his phone.

Brendan arrived before time. He explained everything he did whilst he was doing his tests. After the tests it was discovered that the leak was due to a faulty ball valve in cold water tank. He was extremely polite and pleasant. It was expensive but worth it for the peace of mind it gave us as we had been very worried that we had a major internal leak.

The engineer arrived promptly and completed the work in a reasonable time frame. The various issues involved were explained clearly. The report arrived the next day and has been accepted by the insurance broker for use in processing the insurance claim.

Extremely prompt response from the company with suggested attendance date. Plumber was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. The engineer located the leak - which was located out of sight and replaced the leaking valve during his visit. Excellent. Would recommend

Simon Detection Engineer arrived on time. Very helpful explaining what he would be doing to locate the leak. Leak found……due to unforeseen problems outside his control work not completed. But reassured me that the leak was not major. Would be back to complete the repair when the other problem had been resolved. Excellent service.

Simon arrived promptly and worked methodically and efficiently to confirm and locate the (relatively small) leak on our water main. I was impressed with his experienced and friendly approach, which included identification and repair of the leak within the time allocated for the call-out. We had been given a price by another company which was virtually double what we were charged, and made no allowance for repair!
