K.D & L.K Goodall Roofing was established in 1984 by Kevin Goodall, a former builder who decided to switch trades and focus primarily on roofing. Goodall Roofing are the main contractors for many island companies and provide a vast range of knowledge and expertise in the commercial and residential roofing industry. Works include St Helens Castle, Shanklin Hotel, The old Army and navy shop - now Laura Ashley in Newport, The former B&Q, now Matalan. In 1995 his son Luke joined the company as an apprentice.

Most old flat roofs only have a life expectancy of 10 to 15 years, some less, depending on the quality of work. Now with the modern high performance felt your roof can last up to 30 years. If your flat roof is in need of renewal then we offer a high performance 3 layer torch on felt system. We only use the best products on the market and will be installed by our skilled work force. If the decking is in need of replacing we use a 18mm OSB smart ply followed by a 2mm perforated or sand layer of felt, next layer is a 4mm polymer torch on felt, finished with a 4mm polymer mineral felt.

Soffits and fascias if installed in timber will constantly need maintaining on an 3-4 year basis which can be a very costly job. With Upvc Soffits, Fascias and guttering you no longer need to worry, these can be easily cleaned with warm soapy water and will last decades with very little maintenance. Upvc comes in a variety of colours, including white, light and dark brown and also woodgrain. Upvc soffit comes in many different styles ranging from clad to vented. All Upvc work will be installed to the highest standard.

Occasionally slates will slip down a roof, causing rainwater to penetrate into the building. This may possibly be due to incorrect fixing of the slate and can easily be fixed back into position. With frequent maintenance like this you can prolong the life span of your roof and stop any damage occurring to the roof timbers on your property and further damage inside. In many cases if your roof is suffering nail corrosion (nail sick) then a re-roof is by far the best option. There are many options of slates to pick from most common is a man made fibre cement slate but there and many great naturals slates from Wales, Spain, Brazil, China and many more.

Tiled roofs can have a long life span if maintained properly ie: replacing broken or damaged tiles, repointing ridges and repairing lead work. Inevitably as with all tiled roofs, there will come a time when a re-roof is needed due to age and water penetration. If a re-roof is needed there are a wide range of tiles to choose from, in various colours and profiles and material, of which samples can be provided on request. Our tiled roofs will be installed using the most up to date of roofing materials and methods and will be installed to the highest roofing standards.

Lead is an integral part of your homes ability to remain watertight, and with damaged or badly installed lead work, you will experience water penetration. Lead is an extremely durable metal and if fitted correctly and in the appropriate code can last as long as 100 years. There are many different codes of lead ranging from code 3 for soaker's and code 5 for valleys, there are thicker grades available if required. As a roofing company we never use lead below code 4. Our roofing company covers all different aspects of lead work including dressing, bossing and lead welding.
