50 years ago HERTALAN® was the first European EPDM manufacturer. The first membrane was produced in 1965 at our production plant in Kampen the Netherlands. It goes without saying that a lot has happened over the last fifty years. However, one thing has remained unchanged: in the sixties, we were innovative by being the first manufacturer in Europe to develop an EPDM roofing membrane and nowadays we are still leading the in European EPDM market. We are proud to say that we already have fifty years of relationships with customers, architects and installers which bind us together and our designs and performance are well-known the market.

In 1965 we started the production of our EPDM roofing systems in the Netherlands, a unique and popular product in the European market. We were the first manufacturer in Europe to develop EPDM, long before the emergence of the traditional bituminous products we had introduced EPDM to the roofing market. So unique, that we have even have our own training centre in the UK where we provide courses and lectures on EPDM and the many benefits of the material and how to work with it.
