Our trained fire safety experts are also on hand to provide you with fire risk assessments. Southern Fire Protection Ltd was established in 1994 and is a fully independent company owned and run by ex-servicemen.

Southern Fire Protection have been installing and servicing fire alarm systems since 1994 providing fire protection for all types of properties from large commercial buildings, HMOs, Hotels, Nursing/Care Homes, Restaurants, etc. It is now a legal requirement for businesses and organisations to have a working fire alarm system installed and well maintained. Southern Fire Protection can advise you from the start of a project through to the very end. And we understand that you expect a quality Fire Alarm and Smoke Detection service at a very competitive price.

By law, employers must provide their staff with adequate means of tackling a fire in the workplace. Workplaces must also carry out regular checks, to ensure all fire extinguishers are maintained in working order and in good repair between services. Properly serviced and maintained fire extinguishers are a Health and Safety essential and can help to save lives. Fire Safety Legislation requires that a fire extinguisher service should be carried out at least once a year. Southern Fire Protection offers a full fire extinguisher service covering all areas from initial assessment to servicing and maintenance.

Southern Fire Protection courses are carried out safely at your premises and are designed to increase the overall fire safety awareness of all employees and to impress upon them the need to be vigilant and to report any problems or defects to fire safety-related equipment. Please refer to our fire risk assessment service. Whilst it may be a legal requirement, it also makes good sense to protect yourself, your staff and your business from fire, as each year the cost to business through fire runs into millions of pounds and approximately 80% of affected companies never recover.

A fire risk assessment is an organised and methodical look at your premises, the activities carried out there and the likelihood that a fire could start and cause harm to those in and around the premises. Under the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005, all employers with 5 or more employees must have a written fire risk assessment. Failure to have a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment can leave employers open to prosecution by the Fire Service. The legislation puts responsibility on employers to identify a 'responsible person' to manage fire safety, assess the risks from fire and to make sure that adequate systems are in place.
