Data mining. Calls that seem innocent, telemarketers asking you for any information on your personal information - do not give them anything. It is all going on a database so they can imitate a company that genuinely provides you services.
Just because a 'company' appears at the top of search results doesn't make it less of a scam. Google seems to accept anyone's money for adwords, even if there are over 50 1 star reviews screaming 'SCAM'. Always look for reviews on trustpilot, even if you see a lot of positive words, scammers have a keen interest in creating fake profiles and giving 5 stars.
Another reminder about how important regular updates and back ups are for websites - a client recently had to pay to get an outdated plugin issue rectified. Unsupported plugins become a security risk, even when they seem pretty innocuous. If you are not updating then you may miss the warnings.
Wordpress attracts a lot of users, one of the main reasons is the quantity of free plugins - free isn't always best.
