Lightsource had a requirement to demonstrate how solar panels can be used to provide green energy and save a partial cost of electricity in each household. Their aim was to provide a real-time simulator of energy consumption in a typical home to ascertain how much their solar PV system can save. We were approached by the chief experimental officer for the Environmental Flow Research Centre at the University of Surrey to upgrade an existing temperature monitoring and control system that simulates layered atmospheric conditions in their environmental flow laboratory.
