At Vulcan Fire Ltd we aim to give the best PAT testing service to enable you to fulfil your equipment safety obligations. All portable electrical equipment is subject to damage during use, and this could render the equipment dangerous to use. Without regular testing and inspection, you have not taken reasonable steps to ensure the safety of users. Electrical safety obligations are not limited to businesses. Landlords are also responsible for ensuring the regular testing of all appliances they provide for their tenants.

All installations are carried out in strict accordance with UK and EU standards as well as our own high standards of workmanship. Remote monitoring of your intruder alarm system can be provided by our 24/7 accredited alarm receiving centre. We offer a range of signalling methods to transmit alarm signals, from a simple digital communicator on a grade 2 system to high security dual path signalling used on grade 3 and 4 systems. Vulcan Fire offer a complete range of the latest in digital CCTV technology from entry level kits to high end systems featuring control room suites such as town centre schemes.

It has been found that 61% of deaths involving fire were caused by smoke inhalation and that one in 12 fire doors fail or are wedged open. The definition of a fire door is a door assembly which is designed to hold back fire and smoke for a designated period, and has been tested under conditions described in British Standard 476: Part 22. Fire doors provide a barrier to prevent the spread of smoke and flame. They need to be kept closed at all times, unless held open by a professional electrical close system which releases the door on activation of a fire alarm.

Fire Suppression Systems are used with smoke detectors and fire alarm systems to improve and increase personal safety as well as protect your business critical operations. These systems work by starving the fire of oxygen or heat to extinguish it. The system will normally use smoke detectors to detect a fire which triggers the release of gas into the area. The gas then suffocates the fire by removing the oxygen or heat needed to burn. The benefits of this type of system include safe and environmentally friendly gas, no cleanup is required as no residue is left behind and the systems can be used in a variety of areas including server, switch, battery and transformer rooms.

It is only when a fire erupts will you find out whether or not the fire alarm system you have installed will do the job. Questions will soon be asked from the Fire Authority / Insurers / and possibly a Judge as to who and why you have chosen your current supplier. By choosing a BAFE SP203 accredited company you can be assured you've taken what is seen as your legal duty to ensure competency from a supplier and by choosing a BAFE accredited company to install and or maintain your Fire Alarm system, you can rest assured that you will not fall foul of legislation.

At Vulcan Fire, our experienced and highly skilled engineers will install and maintain your fire alarm system to current British safety standards, ensuring you are operating fully within the law and are kept safe from unnecessary risk. Under Articles 13 and 17 of the Fire Safety Order the person responsible for a building must ensure an adequate fire alarm system has been installed, maintained, and is in full working order. All fire alarm projects start with a Fire Risk Assessment involving a comprehensive assessment of all sites and buildings.
